Visually a cupcake is larger than a fairy cake, but the big difference is in the taste! Buttercup cupcakes are made to American recipes; they are moist and usually topped with generous helpings of buttercream or cream cheese "frosting", not hard sugar icing. And please don't even say that "marzip--" word!
Because our cupcakes are made with fresh ingredients and no added preservatives, they are best enjoyed on the day. They will still taste deliciously fresh for 2 more days if you wrap the box in cling film or put in an airtight container and store at ambient temperature. (The fridge is usually a "no no" as it tends to make them stale.) The cookies 'n' cream cupcake is an exception; as it contains fresh cream it must be refrigerated or consumed within 3 hours of purchase.

Just call and ask. We aim to accommodate your cravings, however we are sometimes unable to fulfill last minute requests, particularly on Fridays and Saturdays.
Yes. We offer a wide range of options including cupcakes, mini cupcakes, traditional tiered wedding cakes or your own unique design wedding cake. We also hire tiered cupcake stands with minimum order. Tiered cakes can be collected at any of our locations or we are happy to provide a quote for special delivery/set up at your venue. These require special carriage, so normal courier delivery prices are not applicable.
Yes, buttercup make celebration cakes to order from 10 servings to 500+. Have a look at our gallery, online ordering and facebook pages for some of our current designs or email us a picture of your desired design, number of servings and date and we���ll happily provide a quote. Please allow at least 3 working days��� for one of our designs or minimum one week if your own design or. Our wedding slots do book early, so we recommend ordering at least 3 weeks in advance but we can try to accommodate shorter timeframes if possible. Shaped/carved cake designs require minimum 15 / 20 servings, stacked cakes require minimum 23-50 servings and are priced principally by chef���s time so cost considerably more than a standard round cake.
No. You can skip directly to the till and give your name to our counter staff. (Just ignore any jealous glares).
While we don't let anyone lick the spoon, you get the next best thing when you order an extra shot of frosting. Perfect for immediate gratification!
Yes, for those who just can't wait, we have limited seating for 5-10 people on a first-come, first-seated basis.
We're currently a small team, but we're growing. Please note that due to equipment used, candidates must be at least 18 to work at buttercup, and we are not able to offer work experience places at this time.
We make our gluten-free red velvet cupcakes during busier times, usually available Friday evening through Sunday. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate special ���free-from��� requests due to the small batch size this would require.
Yes. Buttercup is active in charitable programs, HOWEVER, you might be surprised to learn that the idea of free cupcakes is a very popular one and we currently receive over 6 requests on average per day (over 2,000 per year!) ��� all from very commendable efforts. As it���s not possible to hire a team to give away cupcakes, instead we have chosen to piggyback the large-scale charitable campaigns organised by our shopping centre partners. Examples include Macmillan, Cancer Research UK, Save the Children, Breast Cancer Awareness, BakeAware, etc. This keeps us plenty active and we are unable to consider ad hoc requests. If you would not like to answer 2,000 requests per year, please spare a thought for us and refrain from asking other than to approach the shopping centre management teams directly with your registered charity���s proposal.
